Whispering Horizon 3D
Acrylic, texture & gold on canvas · 97 × 130 cm · 2025
The warmest thing in the studio. Red worked into the relief, gold run along every fault line, and a corridor of pale light straight down the middle.
Original paintings · Studio in France
Skies, water and gold, built up in layers until the canvas holds light on its own.

Acrylic, texture & gold leaf on canvas · 130 × 110 cm
Gold leaf laid onto the dome, the stonework built out in relief until it catches a raking light, and everything around it left as weather. The one departure from landscape — and the piece people stand in front of longest.

Art Battle · Amsterdam, 2025
Twenty minutes, one canvas, an audience watching every stroke. The painting was auctioned the same evening — the last photograph is the man who took it home.
The artist
I went to a monastery in 2017 meaning to rest. I came back painting, and I haven’t stopped since.
Before that there was Kazakhstan, then Germany, then an office at BMW. None of it was wrong. It just wasn’t quiet enough to hear anything.
What I make now are surfaces you have to slow down for. Acrylic and oil over texture paste, sand and gold, built up over days until the light stays in the canvas instead of bouncing off it. A river, a horizon, a sky with nothing in it — I paint the same place again and again, and it comes out different every time.
Every piece leaves the studio signed and dated on the reverse, with a certificate of authenticity.

Available works
A horizon, water beneath it, and light arriving from somewhere off the canvas. Worked in acrylic and oil over texture paste, sand and gold — which is why several of these are shown twice: once whole, once close enough to see the surface.
Selected works
Acrylic, texture & gold on canvas · 97 × 130 cm · 2025
The warmest thing in the studio. Red worked into the relief, gold run along every fault line, and a corridor of pale light straight down the middle.
Acrylic & oil on canvas · 90 × 90 cm
The most luminous canvas in the studio right now — a whole sky collapsing into one band of light at the waterline.
Acrylic & oil on canvas · 80 × 80 cm · 2024
Painted for the two minutes when the cloud breaks and the whole valley goes gold. Real gold pigment in the beams, so they only fully appear once you move.
Textured acrylic on canvas · 30 × 30 cm · white float frame · 2024
Weather and nothing else. Framed and ready to hang — the float frame leaves the painted edges visible.
Acrylic, mixed media & texture on canvas · 50 × 40 cm
The quietest surface here and the most physical — almost no colour, all relief. It changes completely depending on where the light comes from.
Texture & copper on canvas · 30 × 30 cm
One colour, all sculpture. The spiral is built up in relief you can read with a fingertip — it reads differently from every position in a room.
Mixed media, texture & gold on canvas · 40 × 40 cm · 2023
The most physical surface here — copper ridges you can read with a fingertip, and enough white to make the room feel colder than it is. Small enough to hold, and still the piece that stops people.
More from the studio
Smaller canvases and framed pieces. Most are ready to hang, and this is where most people start.

Edge of Madness
One run of work, painted together and framed alike — each 12 × 17 cm, mounted to 21 × 27 cm. Closer to weather than to landscape, and the most physical surfaces in the studio. Sold individually; two have already gone.

Before you decide
Large work is almost impossible to judge on a screen. Send a photo of the wall with a rough width, and you'll get the same image back with the painting set into it, to scale — no obligation, usually within a day.

Acrylic, oil, mixed media and gold or copper leaf on canvas, canvas board or paper. Works marked 3D are heavily textured and have relief you can feel with a fingertip.
